Staffing software for consulting firms
A consulting firm does not staff like a factory. The question is not “who is free” but “who has the skills, are they available, and how do we allocate without breaking another engagement”. BestConsultant brings together the project record, budget, Gantt and skill search — actual timesheets and leave show on the same plan.
Do we have the skills, are they free, how do we allocate?
Resource search filters by dates, skills (functional, language, sector), clients, practices, teams or groups. Engagement staffing lists people assigned and still to assign, with a day calculator that skips leave and double-booking. Excel export is there for side analysis — not to rebuild the plan.
Can the plan see double-booking and leave?
The resource plan shows, for each person, client work, internal work, leave, training and timesheets, confirmed or not. The project plan places engagements in time. Both views are Gantt. Approved leave is no longer a mid-week surprise.
From engagement budget to invoice, with no extra file
Each project record holds actions, documents, notes, status (including archive or lock) and history. The budget is built on the engagement; costs can be adjusted. Monitoring rolls up forecast, timesheets and expenses for senior management. Invoicing reuses that budget and those actual days.
What this is not
- Jira or a ticket tool.
- An industrial ERP with a bolted-on “projects” module.
- A decorative Gantt disconnected from leave and timesheets.
